Bulldog Potty Training
For most people, bulldog house breaking is one of the most difficult tasks. Bulldog potty training simply something that you should really take care of if you don’t want your house to smell. In the early weeks of your bulldogs stay in your home, you can expect your little rascal to simply relieve him or herself in some dark corners of the hose. To cut this habit of defecating or urinating just about anywhere, you should be able to catch your little dog in the act and reprimand him or her on the spot. Never tolerate your bulldog when it comes to relieving him or her self inside the house.
Bulldog potty training or any bulldog training should start when your bulldog is still a puppy. You bulldog pup must learn from an early age what things are allowed in side the house and what are not allowed inside the house. When you reprimand your dog, you should make an impression that you are not happy with what your dog have done and will not tolerate any incidents like that. Since bulldogs are naturally very intelligent type of dog, the tone of your voice and your body language is enough to serve as warning for them not to repeat the act again. However, it is not always a good idea to spank or hit your dog. A stern verbal warning will suffice.
Furthermore, when you catch your dog right before he or she starts to relive him or her self, simply say “no” firmly and lead the dog outside of the house where he or she can do her thing. Always make sure that you do exactly the same thing when you see your dog positioning itself to defecate. Soon, the dog will earn that he or she is not allowed to relieve him or her self inside the house.
Feeding Pattern As Part Of Bulldog Potty Training
The amount of food that your bulldog consumes in a day will determine the amount of potty that it will discharge in a day. From age 8 weeks to 16 weeks, you may feed your dog three times a day but when it reachers more than 16 weeks, you should start feeding it twice a day. Do not give too much food to your dog since this will cause him to become obese and would make him or her defecate several times in a day.
As part of your potty training program, every time you feed you dog, you bring your dog outside and say “go potty”. In the morning when your puppy wakes up, you should bring your puppy outside and tell him or her to “go potty”. You should do this everyday as part of your bulldog house breaking routine. You should understand that when it comes to bulldog potty training, there are not short cuts. You need to be very patient with your little dog. If you don’t have that kind of patience, please do not get a dog. A lot of dogs have ended up in some bulldog rescue/adoption simply because their owners did not have the patience to deal with them.
