    Bulldog obedience training could be a tough job but it can also be very enjoyable. What makes bulldog obedience training tough is that bulldogs by nature are stubborn types of dogs. There may be times when they simply don’t want to cooperate and you cannot really force them when they start sulking.

    When you are doing bulldog obedience training, you should have much patience and maintain that assertive attitude at all times. You should let your dog know that you are the boss that that you want him or her to what you are saying. Bulldogs are headstrong by nature so you should not try to baby. If a bulldog sees you weakness, it will abuse that weakness.

    Consistency is something that any dog will understand. If you are conduct bulldog obedience training and nay types of bulldog training for that matter, you need to be very consist. To achieve consistency of action, it would be a good idea to repeat an action or a command several times in a day for weeks or months until such time when the bulldog will automatically respond to the command in a consist manner.

    Do not let your dog know that you are frustrated or angry because that will only goad him or her into sulking even more. If your dog is no longer responding to your command that means that he or she had enough lessons for the day so you can end the session.

    Teaching Your Dog Basic Tricks

    Bulldog obedience training should not be forced upon your dog in one setting. Give your bulldog time to learn what you are teaching it. It is also very important to teach your dog by examples. When teaching your bulldog basic tricks, you should repeat the process several times. For instance, if you are teaching your bulldog to respond to the command to sit down, all you have to do is say, “sit” and do the act. It would also be a good idea to get down on the floor with your dog when doing some bulldog obedience training so that you will appear to be threatening to the dog.

    Another way to teach your bulldog how to respond to the simple command of “sit” is to dangle a treat on the head of the dog until it falls on its butt in a sitting position. You say the word sit at the exact moment when the butt of your dog touches the floor on a sitting position. Do not forget to give the treat to your dog and praise him or her for his or her action.

    Now, do not expect tour dog to learn tricks overnight. Bulldog obedience training will need sometime before your dog can get things right. Bulldog training actually a lot of hard work especially when you get down to the bulldog potty training which could be a bit messy.
